Baked Apple French Toast

Baked Apple French Toast
Makes 6 servings.

12 slices of bread
1 can apple pie filling

Arrange 6 slices of bread in greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Spread with pie filling. Top with remaining 6 bread slices.

6 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.

TOPPING
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup chopped pecans
2 Tbsp. white corn syrup


Place brown sugar in bowl. Cut in butter until it is coarse crumbs.

Stir in pecans and corn syrup. Sprinkle over French Toast.

Bake uncovered 35 - 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
